I can't wait for the third book - I'm hooked!

I am struggling with finding eloquent words to describe how much I loved this book!!!
Unlike the previous book, I can really see myself in this character's shoes. My two most serious relationships (a marriage and an engagement) have ended with my husband/fianc� cheating on me. The hurt, the trust issues, the feelings of abandonment and betrayal, the feelings of inadequacy - all of these things are captured perfectly by Gina Drayer. As is the knowledge that the cheater would have cheated regardless.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a dark depressing read, but Gina does a fantastic job of making you feel what her characters are feeling. Unfortunately for me, I haven't met a sexy one night stand to fix my problem, but one night stands aren't really for me. I'm covered under the final tip with my Modern Girl Choices, by the way! :-)

Can't wait for the third book!

At least I hope there is one. I want to read Megan an Peter's story! They HAVE to get together!
I really enjoyed reading this book. There were some references to the first book, but if you haven't read it yet it isn't spoiled. I really like Julia. She is a strong character who accepts her weaknesses and Simon lets her be herself, unlike her a$$ of an ex, Luke.
This really is an awesome trilogy. I assume it's a trilogy since the first two books focused on two of three friends who work together.

Author should switch to writing children's books

Really awful. Sorry, but this author writes like she's talking to children and explaining what happened at school today. Sort of like, "Simon works too hard and doesn't listen to his sister. Julia decides to sleep with Simon because she has pent up need and is not very bright." Some of this is due to the fact that the author writes in third person omniscient. ("Third person omniscient is a method of storytelling in which the narrator knows the thoughts and feelings of all of the characters in the story.") This is not a good idea for erotic romance because readers really can't place themselves in the story.
The story begins with the one-night stand in a long drawn out explanation that is designed to convince the reader that Julia is not an idiot. But, that doesn't really work. Julia's reasons for her one night stand with Simon are just plain dumb. Moreover, there is no heat. No build-up. She doesn't even seem that attracted to him. There's nothing to make readers interested in these two. What follows in the hotel room is just a giant yawn.
So that's the set up and the rest of the story is how these two end up in the same summer cottage for a week and play cat and mouse and obviously they have to fall in love and all that. Anyway, getting back in bed together takes forever while we are bored with way too many details about their professional lives and the drama of all their extended family and friends. You can skim most of this book because not much happens, especially in the bedroom. On my hot-o-meter scale of one to five (five being the hottest) I'd give this a one. And those little blurbs of "tips" to "modern girls" at the beginning of every chapter? Not funny or insightful. This author is really kidding herself.
