Clear and Easy to Understand

This textbook is one of the best I've used. The mathematical procedures and examples are clearly explained, written in two columns. The left column describes the procedure in plain english, while the left column is the math. Color is used effectively, highlighting the important information. Each chapter ends with a couple pages of review, where each section is listed with the important topics and key concepts and formulas for that section.

Happily Surviving Math

As a college student, I took College algebra 5 years ago with a different book. That book was a complete headache to comprehend. I barely passed. I am retaking it because I need calculus to complete my business degree; hence, I am doing a math review... Note that any person may struggle because high-level math classes are NOT a walk-in-the-park.
The book is easy to understand. The summary at the end of each section gives has been helpful for a quick overview. Personally, I think the content its put in a decent order/structure. Tips are given for using a graphing calculator. The chapters are not overally condensed. Like most modern math books, the answers to odd-numbered problems are stated in the Index areas. To fully understand how the problems are actually solved, get the corresponding student solutions manual; For odd-numbered problems, the manual *explains* how the problems are solved... Now, surprisingly, I have gotten A-rated scores on my math tests so far!
