still a good book, but I'm very disappointed

I am very disappointed when I got this book. However, I can't give it any lower rating because it IS a good book for someone who wants to learn Delphi or for someone who wants to enhance their delphi skills. However, the book bare touches the new topics in Delphi 5 and it did not cover any detail on those new topics. To me, this book is identical to the last 3 books. It's just collecting dust sitting on my desk. Would someone please explore the revamped MIDAS, the new internet express? These are only 2 of the most important topics in Delphi 5 that's missing from this book. (ignore the topic holder chapaters....)

Mind reader

This was one of the first books to cover the newest version of Delphi. It's too big to just sit down and read, so I originally used it mainly for reference. I've had no trouble looking things up in the index and finding just the right place in the book that covers the topic I need right away. But I'm finding it's better than just a reference tool. As I read and am presented with new knowledge, Marco seems to anticipate my next question and answers it immediately! I often find myself exclaiming, "Yes, I WAS wondering about that!" He doesn't dwell on any one topic too long, but leaves you with enough direction and curiosity to easily discover the rest of the solution on your own. I've used Borland's Pascal tools for many years and yet this book seems to shed new insights into this powerful object-oriented language.

Not worth the money

The text is written by a 10th grader who works very hard to embellish hard facts (exam data) with an unimaginable number of would, should, could descriptors. I cannot imagine passing the exam using nothing but this poorly written text. If this is truly the level of thinking and knowledge ISACA requires for CISM certification, I am not interested in taking the exam. Unfortunately this was a 140 dollar lesson.

review of Just Kids...

This woman's writing is excellent. She has such a way with words and her adventures are so interesting. I was in New York when she was, but not in Greenwich Village. How different were our experiences. We both went to the world's fair in 1964 though. Her second book, "Waiting for the M Train" is even better. Who cares that she can sing too!

Repackaged previous text

This book is essentially the author's previous book on water treatment with two new chapters on biological treatment. Some of the material from the former book has also been edited out. Unfortunately, the repackaging of the former book was not done carefully, and the new text is full of typos and errors. I would recommend the author's first book as a comprehensive text on water treatment, but do not highly recommend this book.
