THAT was the kind of useless advice in the "book"

This "book" was a joke. I thought I was buying a book, but it is a pamphlet. The information was nothing more than what can be found with a quick search online or simply answered with common sense. How to learn about building a house? Do research online, read magazines, talk to people who have already built a home. THAT was the kind of useless advice in the "book". It was a waste of money, and the only reason I didn't send it back was because it made my husband laugh so much. He's convinced someone wrote a computer code to write this pamphlet. The cover image is badly photoshopped and fits perfectly with the entire charade of the publication. A fast one was definitely pulled here.

Very interesting!

It's pretty amazing to come across a comprehensive guide about shipping container homes.This book is packed with advise, such as it is inexpensive, versatile, easy to build, durable, with abundant supply and most of all its environmental friendly. It involves everything that you need most from the start, on making designs all the way through getting final permits and certificate of occupancy. Great idea with the most thorough and detailed guide you'll find. I came to know a lot more from this guide and after reading it now I am planning to have my own shipping container house. I must recommend this guide to all.

FANTASTIC, but get the 2013 Second Edition!

Update AUGUST 2013: The new 2013 edition is even better, with lots of added information and photos. Although both are great, the second edition gives you more for the same money - make sure to get the expanded edition.

Original review:
Great historical details intertwined with technical information - everything I need to identify just about every FN and Browning pistol, including those allusive oddballs. This is not my first book from this publisher with the funny name. Wet Dog Publications is a true boutique-style publisher that focuses on good information and great quality pics. No wonder they only put out one title a year, well worth the wait and expense.

You need this book if you are going to own more than one browning. I've went cover to cover and found the information excellent. Kept me from spending money on pistols that are not truly browning.

An Excellent Motivational Work

PUSH: Persevere Until Success Happens through Prayer is one of the most motivating and encouraging book I have read on the successful accomplishment of negotiating the journey to success.

Dr Trimm uses the appropriate analogy of the stages of childbirth, the conception and growth of ideas, through the actual birthing process of bringing those ideas to tangible fruition. She illustrates her points with scriptural references and famous quotes throughout the work.

The author discusses the birth of each of us as individuals, physically, spiritually, and intellectually. She provides a helpful chart of “investments” that lead to a well-rounded, healthy human being. She illustrates the many influences that shape our thought processes, the action we take, and how they can either stifle or advance our movement toward success.

She concludes the book with an extensive inspiring and empowering list of positive statements that she refers to as “the creed.”

I especially enjoyed the continuous message conveyed throughout the book that God has certain aspirations for all of us, and through prayer and perseverance, we can achieve the goals we were born to reach Even though I had heard a couple of them before, Dr Trimm's examples of famous people in history who pushed on against all odds were especially interesting and motivating.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who entertains dreams, anyone who longs for accomplishment, anyone who seeks to fulfill God’s will in his or her life. This is definitely a keeper for me and a book that will take its rightful place on my “reference” shelf.

Power in prayer

A deep and personal look at how prayer impacts the different areas in our lives. A clear focus on perseverance and trusting in the hand of God in all things. the author quotes a lot of other sources it was like reading a combination of all my favourite illustrations and poems. Great reference to scripture with a few practical examples to use in our daily prayer life. This book is definitely not a once-off read, and can allows be picked up again and again.

This is the second book that I have read by Dr. Cindy Trimm, “Reclaim Your Soul” being the first. This book – “PUSH” – “Persevere Until Success Happens; Through Prayer” – however, landed in my mailbox at exactly the right time. Some may wonder about the references and quotes from “New Age” philosophers that are throughout her books, I don’t. They are just that… references and quotes. I don’t think that we should shun sound advice because of the messenger. However, that being said… Dr. Trimm balances all of her writings with sound biblical references.

As with her other book, I found this book to be very positive and encouraging for anyone who wonders just if they can achieve anything with their lives. In my opinion, this is a book that will require more than a cursory reading. As I said, it appeared when I needed to hear it most and I am looking forward to a more in-depth study of this book. I look forward to future writings by Dr. Trimm.

Like most self-published ebook oddities, it's short (five or six pages, maybe). It's fun and hilarious, unfortunately marred by an exceedingly high number of grammatical errors.

In case you're wondering, yes, a woman does have intercourse with a magical snowman. It's so over-the-top, though, that it's not sexy--not even by a long shot--so serious snow fetishists may want to look elsewhere. It also doesn't feature the sexual act known as "snowballing," a criminally-missed opportunity if I've ever seen one.

Still, Snowballin probably worth the 99 cents it costs just for this paragraph: "The Eskimos may have a hundred words for snow, but at that moment, I had only two: ****. Yeah.'"

This is super original & super hot! Our heroine & her dumb-but-packin' boyfriend are building a snowman & decide to have a little roll in the snow. Except he leaves her...unsatisfied. Good thing their snowman is equipped for the job! Fun and sexy!

There, is only 13 pages so I don't think it's worth 5 stars. However, there were some great one liners, such as:

"The Stephen does what the Stephen wants!"

"Oh god, give me that South Pole!"

"The Eskimos may have a hundred words for snow, but at that moment, I had only two: F#$%. Yeah."

Funny, but not much of a story, just a fantasy scene.

It wasn't bad, just not what I was expecting at all

Parts of this book were great and other parts (most actually) were seriously outdated. I also found the authors analogies a bit confusing and weird. If you've never read a book on time management or book structure, you might find this book helpful. But I am of the opinion there are much better books out there. It was a lot less about time management and much more about book structure and the writing/publishing.

Giving it 3 stars because it wasn't bad, just not what I was expecting at all.

More than the title

having never been a advocate for motivational books I've changed my ways. Writing has been a twinkle in the back of my subconscious mind for eons. Time finally arrived with retirement and writing has come forward into my life. This book not only inspires but instructs at a adult level. It is more than time management and with its bibliography to aim you at the next books to read it pays for itself. As a novice in the world of creative writing I would recommend this book to all.

Overly complicated

I liked the idea of this book. It seemed like the perfect combination of my two interests: writing and time management. However, A WRITER'S TIME doesn't really help with either. Atchity's writing advice is overly complicated, requiring 1000 completed index cards, three desks, and several ten-day vacations. His time management advice is full of "woo," as if writing is a mysterious process that has to be delicately handled.

Atchity divides his mind into "continents" and "islands," his metaphor for rational and imaginative thought. He insists it's the tension between these two states of mind that creates fiction, and he cultivates that tension by refusing to write. Yes, you read that correctly-Atchity thinks that not writing makes him a better writer. He relies heavily on vacations and unplanned days off. He puts great stock in letting ideas percolate, only touching pen to paper when he feels the time is right.

This is not my experience, nor that of most working writers. Writing is our great joy and passion, but it's not delicate. The faster our pens move, the faster the ideas come. Taking several days off while waiting for inspiration is what wannabe writers do. Real writers write.

A WRITER'S TIME makes a few valid points, like when Atchity distinguishes between beginning, middle, and end time. Writers can't expect steady forward progress. A project moves slowly at the beginning and races at the end. Atchity explains why that is and how to schedule writing time accordingly. However, even the good ideas are buried under sentences like this: "Thought control may be the ultimate in time management because it allows you to invoke and exploit your own positive emotions and make them work to shape your will into a lifelike resemblance to your dream." Um....what?

Even though I liked the idea of this book, after 200 pages of dense prose, I didn't learn anything new about time management and I certainly didn't gain any insights into writing. I'm better off learning writing from the many craft books on my shelves. As for time management, I get far better results by treating writing as my job. In other words, writing every day, because the time is always right for writing.
